Welp just had to leave a fandom space that I really liked because I got a “warning” for calling a TERF a TERF.
Pretty sad about it.
I’m gonna get dragged for this, but here goes: Actors are actors. They should play any role they can pull off convincingly. Our goal as a community should be highlighting the visibility of stories about the LGBTQ+ community. If we start insisting that only gays can play gays, then doesn’t it make sense that gays then can’t play straights? And that would be a travesty. Let’s celebrate telling our stories and getting the best possible actors to do so. If they happen to be gay, awesome, but if not, is that going to matter to the quality and value of putting that story out there for people to see?
As to the second part? I’d like to see EVERY actor play gay, because exposure and visibility are what I care about and the more theaters and living rooms our stories get into, the better.
So how do you feel about gay actors being unable to find work though
Im back
i need feminism because when jesus does a magic trick it’s a goddamn miracle but when a woman does a magic trick she gets burned at the stake
fabulous
i mean they did also kill jesus. that was a pretty significant thing that happened. like i understand where you’re coming from here but they very much did kill jesus.
